Announcement of two By-Law changes

The following two minor changes to the By-Laws were submitted by Secretary-Treasurer Aaron Pino to the Executive Board and were unanimously adopted at the meeting on December 12, 2022.

The first is in Article I Section 1:

i) With the approval of the Executive Board, quarterly payments of $35 may be accepted, if it is determined that a circumstance exists which places a member or members in a specific situation of economic hardship.

This change makes our Quarterly Dues option offered during the pandemic a permanent option, with Board approval.

The second change is in Article II Section 1:

j) The President shall be editor and publisher of the Dallas-Fort Worth Musician which shall be published on a quarterly basis and electronically mailed to each member of the Association.  A hard copy can be made available to any members that request one.

This change allows the Local to save quite a bit of money by not having to print hundreds of copies of each newsletter. They are now required to be sent electronically. Any member who still wants to receive a hard copy needs to request one from Secretary-Treasurer Aaron Pino at apino@musiciansdfw.org or 817-469-6040 x102. All previous electronically published newsletters are archived on this site.
