MFCU Update - Thank You Rose Mathews
We wanted to update you on what is going on at our own Musicians Federal Credit Union. For those of you who are not aware, this credit union is located in our office suite, and is only for members of our Local and their immediate family members. The most important service it provides to our members is instrument loans – it is one of only two institutions in the state that we know of that will even do instrument loans for anything smaller than a grand piano. It also offers car loans, as well as share-secured loans (based on money you have deposited in your account). We are one of the only Locals in the AFM that has a credit union.
Our credit union manager, Rose Mathews, who has been with us for around thirty years, is retiring. We want to thank Rose for everything she has done for the credit union members throughout the years – she has been an excellent steward of MFCU. We are currently looking for someone to replace her, and in the interim, I will be the interim manager, and Dana Sudborough and President Williams will also be helping staff the credit union office during its normal hours, which are Tuesday and Thursday afternoons. Rose has agreed to be on-call for us should we need her expertise in this interim period. Former President Ken Krause, who used to be on the board of MFCU, has agreed to be appointed to the board again during this interim period. We are forming a transition committee, and if there are any credit union members interested in being on this committee, please email President Williams or me. We would like very much to keep MFCU running as it always has, and so the top priority is finding someone interested in managing it, but we are looking at all options and will keep you posted.
