Musicians Bring Holidays to Homeless

December 1, 2018

On December 20 local musicians will be presenting an annual concert for people in our cities who experience homelessness. In addition to presenting musical entertainment they are raising funds to prepare Christmas packages for those in attendance. All money will go to purchase things they need such as, socks, scarves, gloves and hats. We would also like to include a treat or two like candy and cookies.

Local 72-147 member Jennifer Martin has worked to organize this event as well as a monthly concert for people in this circumstance. “We are asking for your help,” she says. “We will accept any amount, nothing is too small. If you give a dollar and get your friends to give a dollar it will not take long to reach our goal.”
At the 2017 concert, 400 people were in attendance. As there were not enough packages for every audience member, a special effort is being made to be able to provide for all who come.

We are asking for your help. We will accept any amount, nothing is too small. If you give a dollar and get your friends to give a dollar it will not take long to reach our goal. Please have your donations in quickly as we must order the merchandise. Donations are tax deductible. You will receive a receipt letter. Our fundraising goal is $3000.00. Please spread the word, be a fundraiser too, and help us reach our goal! To make contributing to this great cause an easier task we have two options for giving. We have a Go Fund Me page, just search for Dream Café 2018, Cedar Hill, Tx. or you may send a check directly to the address listed below.

Last night at our monthly concert a gentleman came up and said, “This music is so great, it makes me feel like I’m not homeless!”

Our annual Christmas concert for 2018 is on December 20, 2018, from 6:30 to 8 PM for the homeless at the center. The presents will be distributed at the concert. To learn more about the wonderful work this organization provides click on this link
