Pension Relief is TRULY Within Reach, Help Get us Across the Finish Line!
Last Friday, The Butch Lewis Emergency Pension Plan Relief Act of 2021 passed the House as part of the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021. And on Monday, the Senate parliamentarian has ruled that it can be passed through the budget “reconciliation” process. This means that the bill can be passed with a SIMPLE majority vote in the Senate.
We are truly as close as we have EVER been in resolving this crisis for our current retirees & younger participants planning for retirement. It is also our opportunity to move simply put this whole crisis past us, as the legislation as written will enable the Fund to move forward WITHOUT CUTS to benefits, and provide the much needed framework for the Fund to rebuild for the future.
