MUSICIANS IN THE PARK A GREAT SUCCESS
Growing from the relationship between Local 72-147, Klyde Warren Park and the support of Music Performance Trust Fund, many new things are happening in downtown Dallas. On March 28 Local 72-147 presented its first ever “Musicians in the Park” Community Performance.
For many years we have Klyde Warren Park has been bringing musicians to the park with a lunchtime music series (sponsored in part by MPTF). We have now added to our Jam Session and Meet + Greet Series which began last year with this larger event, putting our musicians on stage and celebrating OUR MUSICAL COMMUNITY.
In addition, we will be partnering with The Park in its first ever Memorial Day Weekend Festival on Sunday, May 26. AFM musicians will be featured on the West Stage and these performances will be sponsored, in part, by Music Performance Trust Fund.
We are incredibly pleased to be increasing our community profile with this partnership, featuring our union musicians, and reaching out to the larger community.
