February 24, 2023

Linny Nance Music Performed at Klyde Warren Park under special funding provided by Music Performance Trust Fund in recognition of Black History Month

Local 72-147 and Music Performance Trust Fund joins the entire nation in celebration of Black History Month in paying tribute to the generations of African Americans who struggled with adversity to achieve full citizenship in American society.

In recognition of the importance of Black history in the drama of the American story this month, Music Performance Trust Fund, in coordination with AFM locals across the United States, has provided full musician funding for free-to-the-public performances involving our local’s professional musicians.

Collaborating with Klyde Warren Park in Downtown Dallas, two performances have been sponsored.

In Collaboration with Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church at 1819 N. Washington Avenue in Dallas a performance has been sponsored on Sunday, February 26:

This is a special performance of the “Gospel Meets Jazz” Celebration project featuring the Gospel Meets Jazz band led by Brad Leali, and the renowned Prilgrim Rest Gospel Choir. The performance is on February 26 at 3:00pm and free and open to the public.

Music Performance Trust Fund, in collaboration with Local 72-147 and its community partners, is proud to bring these free performances of our professional musicians to the community in conjunction with Black History Month 2023.
