This spring DFW communities celebrated Jazz Appreciation Month (April) with weekend concerts at Old City Park in Dallas. We collaborated with the Greater Denton Arts Council in the first ever Amplify Denton Festival at the Patterson Appleton Fine Arts Center — all through the support of Music Performance Trust Fund.
In addition, Local 72-147 musicians performed on April 10-13 for the Main Street Fort Worth Arts Festival through MPTF co-sponsorship. These April performances culminated with the first ever “Musicians Solidarity Celebration” in collaboration the Dallas Parks and Recreation Department. Local 72-147 is currently in talks to hold regular member and community events at the beautiful and historic Old City Park in Dallas. Coming up in May are performances co-sponsored by MPTF as part of the Twilight Tunes series performed on Thursdays on the lawn of the Denton Courthouse-on-the-Square. Stay tuned for more!
