MPTF "Saves the Stage" at Denton Arts & Jazz Festival
On October 4-6, The Denton Arts and Jazz Festival was back again presenting a stellar weekend of the highest quality jazz and art in North Texas. With support from Music Performance Trust Fund (MPTF), 60 Local 72-147 bands delivered three days of admission-free live music in Denton.
This year more than ever, MPTF played a large part in making this happen. Still bouncing back from financial challenges brought on by the Pandemic, the festival was at risk of having to cut one of the stages featuring Union bands. It was through MPTF funding that the the River Stage was sponsored and continued to be an important part of the festival, ensuring that the festival would continue as one of the premier free-to-the-public music events in the US.

These free to the public performances are made possible by funding provided by Music Performance Tust Fund, through the collaboration of Local 72-147 with the Denton Arts & Jazz Festival.
