David H. Schultz

David was a Life Member of our Local, having been a member for more than 50 years. He was born to Harry and Flora Schultz on January 13, 1944 in Salinas California. The family stayed there for ten years until relocating to New York City. David attended the Professional Children’s School in Manhattan one year behind Christopher Walken and went on to attend the Juilliard School, pursuing a degree in music.

David’s biggest passion in life was classical music. An avid viola player, he spent countless hours perfecting his ability. He played viola in the Dallas Symphony, a career spanning over thirty years. Before that, he had the opportunity to play in Radio City Music Hall,. He was an adjunct professor at Dallas College Eastfield campus for 17 years, teaching both viola and violin.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Emma Frances, his parents, and his sisters Virginia Carson and Elizabeth Schultz. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Rachel and Dale Barclift; and his first cousin and cousin-in-law, Leo and Christine Marshall.

The family requests donations be made to the Dallas Zoo, an organization David felt strongly about.
