Texas AFL-CIO Scholarships Available - Apply by January 31

It is that time of year to remind you all of college scholarships that are available from the Texas AFL-CIO and also from the Tarrant County Central Labor Council. These scholarships are available to members, and to children who have a parent or legal guardian who is a member. Applicants must be high school seniors who are planning to attend a university, college, or technical institute in the summer or fall term. Scholarships are one-time grants. You do not have to reside in Tarrant County, so all members of this Local and their children are eligible.

There are a few $1500 scholarships available from the Texas AFL-CIO. The Tarrant County Central Labor Council is offering one $5000 Tom Carlin Scholarship, one $2500 Kendall Hill Scholarship, two TCCLC $1500 scholarships, and one $1000 Doctor’s Guild Scholarship. All of these have the same application and process. You can find the timeline and the application and more information about the process at the TCCLC website here. Applications must be mailed to the Texas AFL-CIO Education Department at PO Box 12727, Austin, Texas, 78711. They must be postmarked by January 31, 2025.
