AFM Insurance Update
We wanted to update everyone on the situation with the group insurance policies that the AFM offers its members. The AFM had a contract with a company called Mercer for its group instrument/equipment insurance, liability insurance, home and auto insurance, and even life insurance in some states, though not Texas. Several months ago, Mercer was bought out by a company called AMBA. AMBA has not met the AFM’s needs, but the AFM is locked into that contract until September. So right now, although there is again a group instrument/equipment policy being offered, all the other offerings are temporarily unavailable. International Secretary-Treasurer Ken Shirk has been lining up another company to replace AMBA, and hopefully in September, all of those other insurance policies will again be available.
