Musicians of The Dallas Opera Come to the Table

Negotiations have begun for a successor collective bargaining agreement with The Dallas Opera, which employs the musicians of the Dallas Opera Orchestra. Talks began in April and have continued through May and June, with further meetings scheduled to bargain a successor agreement to the three year agreement which expires June 30 of this year.

The Musicians have made clear to The Dallas Opera management that they have a mandate to move forward with a contract which is progressive on wages and benefits, have made proposals which address the economic realities placed upon them by inflationary conditions, etc. Meetings are scheduled to continue into July.

The Musicians’ negotiation committee consists of Jeff Baker, Meghan Birmingham, Rick Bogard, Natalie Floyd and Donna Hall.
