Negotiations to Resume with Broadway Dallas

September 12, 2022

Negotiations for a successor collective bargaining agreement will soon commence between Local 72-147 and Management of Broadway Dallas (which earlier this year rebranded and changed its name from Dallas Summer Musicals) after working under a one year extension of its previous multi-year agreement.

In August 2021 Broadway touring shows reopened after an 18 month pandemic shutdown. The first show to open nationally – a tour of Wicked –  began in Dallas and was presented by Dallas Summer Musicals. After negotiating Covid Safety protocols locally and nationally for these shows, the season continued through various changing stages of pandemic conditions, and audiences returned to the theater with enthusiasm.

Preparations for negotiations are underway and proposals are being developed, as the current contract extension is set to expire at the end of October. Broadway Dallas musicians on the negotiation team include Debbie Brooks, Brian Brown, Jennifer Griffin and Randy Lee and negotiations are expected to commence soon.
