Happy New Year 2021

Dear Fellow Musicians,

In wishing you a Happy New Year today comes a special message for the beginning of what will be a very important year. While there are simply no more words to describe the difficulties we have gone through over the past year, we now find ourselves at a juncture. 

After the past nine months of responding to conditions previously unimaginable, we are setting our sights on the task of rebuilding our profession, and our lives.

We have much work to do. Of course we will continue to negotiate the challenges of the Pandemic, but we will also be planning for the better days ahead. Like never before we are ready to adapt and innovate, to take care of each other, and to re-establish that communication between us and our audiences which makes the world more beautiful, and sustains our livelihoods.

In wishing you a Happy New Year,  I thank you for your solidarity, support and resolve – and look forward to forging our path ahead together for 2021.
