Senate Passes American Rescue Plan – Including Vital Pension Relief
Now Back to the House and President for Final Passage
On Saturday, The Butch Lewis Emergency Pension Plan Relief Act of 2021 passed the Senate as part of the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021. It will now return to the House for a final vote before being delivered to President Biden for his signature. That House vote is expected to take place tomorrow on Tuesday, March 9.
We are nearly there in resolving this crisis for our current retirees & younger participants planning for retirement. It is time to finally put this trouble behind us as the legislation as written will enable the Fund to move forward WITHOUT CUTS to benefits, and provide the much needed framework for the Fund to rebuild for the future.
Tell your representatives once again how important the Butch Lewis EPPRA and passage in the COVID-19 relief package relief is to you. Ask that they pass the American Rescue Plan.
